New Student Orientation is our way of saying, “Welcome to Rio!” New students will meet the student leadership team and staff members and be able to transition into boarding school life before the returning students arrive. This weekend allows new students to move into the dorms, sit down with an academic adviser and register for classes, plan their daily schedule, and get to know their new classmates and teachers. This time also prepares parents for the transition into boarding school and establishes trust and communication between parents and the Rio staff.
This year, we invite immediate family members only to attend this event with the student. Masks will be worn indoors at all times. We will be administering rapid COVID tests for all staying in the dorms.
