Academics

At Rio, our qualified and caring teachers will guide you on an exciting journey of discovery. All Rio classes share the common goal of helping you become an imaginative, independent and analytical thinker. You will learn in well-equipped science, computer, home and industrial arts labs, and enjoy access to technology in most classrooms. Rio’s administration and teachers are continually striving to discover and develop effective educational methods to improve your learning experience.

As Christians, staff members are committed to a balanced approach to education, focused on improving your body and soul as well as your mind. The quality and dedication of the Rio staff is reflected in multiple student surveys that identify a caring staff and faculty as the greatest strength of the school program.

Our Mission

We commit to reflect Christ, cultivate the relevancy and excitement of learning, and impact the world through education and service.

Our Vision

Our students grow to be spiritually mature, socially compassionate, intellectually competent, and independently capable members of society.

Our Values

Adventist education prepares students for a useful and joy-filled life, fostering friendship with God, whole-person development, Bible-based values, and selfless service in accordance with the Seventh-day Adventist mission to the world.

The Rio Classroom

At Rio, we know that students learn through real life projects, group discussions, and practices that challenge their thinking. Every minute in the classroom is valuable and our teachers are intentional at making every moment count. If you ever walk into a Rio classroom, you won’t see students lined up in rows filling out worksheets; instead, you’ll find enthusiastic teachers guiding class discussions, working individually with students on technical skills, and empowering students to find their voices to express logic and ideas.

A Rio Education

Our graduates leave Rio with a solid set of life skills, a deep passion to care for others around them, and the independence and motivation it takes to continue to thrive in their education. We often say that we’re not here to create “reflectors” of knowledge, but “thinkers” who can remain curious in their thoughts and research and live a life of learning. (EGW, True Education).

Most of all, our graduates walk away with the life experience that enables them to treat others with compassion and dignity, to “do justly and love mercy” as they humbly walk with God. (Micah 6:8)
